IMichael Beck is a founding board member and San Diego Director of the Endangered Habitats League (EHL) and president of its sister organization, the Endangered Habitats Conservancy. Mr. Beck also serves as chairman of the San Diego County Planning Commission. EHL is a regional conservation organization working to preserve the globally significant biodiversity of the region through land use and regional conservation programs such as the San Diego Multiple Species Conservation Program. EHL also is engaged in national and state environmental policy and regulation. Mr. Beck has received recognition for his planning and conservation work including Planning Commissioner of the Year for the State of California, the National Alexander Calder Award, and LEAD San Diego Visionary Award.
