As executive director of the NTC Foundation, Alan was hired to oversee the restoration of 26 historic buildings at the former Naval Training Center and reopen them as a new civic, arts and culture district. He has overseen the creative development of the cultural campus, which has undergone $41 million in renovations. NTC Promenade is now home to 42 civic and nonprofit organizations with the development of future phases now underway.

Alan is a founding board member of the California Arts Advocates. He currently serves on the board of the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau and served three years on the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce board.

Under Alan’s nearly 18 years of successful leadership, the San Diego Performing Arts League implemented programs that develop new audiences for the arts, increase community access to underserved audiences and lower operating costs for arts organizations.
