Gary Knight is the President & CEO of San Diego North Economic Development Council and is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree. Gary has over 25 years experience in the health care field working in a variety of field and management positions. He has worked for companies such as Proctor and Gamble, American Hospital Supply, Baxter International, National Medical Enterprises (Tenent) and others. Gary moved to San Diego in 1985 to manage a division of National Medical Enterprises which was purchased by Tenant Health Care. In 1995 Gary started his own consultant agency that specialized in the formation of joint ventures and new product development which he sold in 2003. Gary joined San Diego North Economic Development Council in April of 2004 and was named President and Chief Executive Officer in December of 2004.

Gary has been serving on the Workforce Investment Board since 2006 and served as Chairman of the Board from July 2007 through June of 2009. As a member of the WIB, Gary has worked hard to bring economic development and workforce development into closer alignment to better serve the San Diego region.
